Short-Term Forecast Plots

  • Here are a set of contour plots using data from the NAM and GFS models.
  • The NAM model gives forecast information out to 84 hours.
  • The GFS model gives forecast information out to 168 hours.
  • The images under this heading are four-panel plots where each plot has a panel for the 12-, 24-, 36-,
    & 48-hour forecasts and a panel for the 60- and, 72-, 84-, and 96-168 hour (GFS only) forecasts of various
    fields and parameters for the NAM and GFS models.
  • The forecast plots are generated FOUR times each day for the 00, 06, 12, and 18 UTC model runs, but
    are updated at different times here based on the time lags in NCEP's distribution of the various models.
